Festivals definitely aren’t as easy as ABC so we’ve broken down lots of handy tips into an A-Z… think of it as your festival road map!

A – ACCESSORISE

As important as the clothes, add headbands, rings and belts  plus novelty ears, wings, flowers and anything else you can think of. More is more.

B – BENICASSIM

This festival is next to the most glorious beach. Perfect for ‘admiring’ hot boys from behind your sunnies.

C – CANS

You’ll probably want a refreshing bevvie at the campsite (or not-so-refreshing really rather hot drink) and most festivals don’t allow glass on site. Play it safe with some tinnies.

D – DANCE MUSIC

If you like your dance then check out I Love Techno, Miami Music Conference or Eastern Electrics to get your kicks.

E –EXIT FESTIVAL

This Serbian festival is one to put on the bucket list; one of the biggest festivals in the world it boasts a stunning mix of house, techno, rock and indie music all set within an ancient Roman fortress. It’s cheap too!

F – FRENCH

Printemps de Bourges, Worldwide Festival and Main Square festival are all just over the channel in lovely France. Party and enjoy some delicious food et vin too!

G – GUYS

After years of research by the Warehouse girls here are the festivals with the hottest guys: Lovebox, Parklife, Exit Festival and Melt. You’re welcome.

H – HAT

A stylish hat will stop your hair getting frazzled (or hide it if it’s a bit dirty), protect you from the sun and hopefully make you look like Sienna Miller.

I – ICE

Who said festivals need to have sunshine? Snowbombing festival features ice, snow and skiing. With a bit of music and hot tub action thrown in too!

J – JUMPER

It will get cold; you will look silly wearing merely a camisole and sense of adventure. Take something snuggly to throw on once the sun goes down and you’ll get much more out of your festival experience. Trust us –the bikini debacle of Benicassim 2008 still haunts us.

K – KIMONOS

Undoubtedly the must-have festival item. A good kimono will lend an air of bohemian nonchalance to any outfit and help you cover up that dodgy henna tattoo you just got. Check out our range here [link]

L – LOVED UP

A festival can be a great couples getaway; a nice boutique, family friendly one like Secret Garden Party, Boomtown or Bestival is great. Or if you’re single it’s the ideal place to ‘connect’ with people. Hot people.

M – MUSIC

Festivals aren’t just about the fashion and having a few days off from being a grown-up they also play host to many wonderful musical acts. Broaden your musical horizons and see something a bit new; you might like it.

N – NEW FESTIVALS

Every year there’s another new kid on the festival block. Here are the ones that are destined for greatness: Found Festival, Eastern Electrics and Dimensions.

O – OUTKAST

Outkast are back on the festival circuit. WAHOOOOOO! They’re playing Wireless and Bestival; don’t miss a chance to see these Southern hip-hop greats play hits such as Spottieottiedopaliscious and Ms Jackson.

P – POOLS

Need an excuse to wear that totally impractical bikini? Or show off that ‘summer bod’ you’ve been working on? No need to resort to Aiya Napa or Marbella. Festivals such as Hideout, Coachella and Ibiza Rocks all have banging pool parties!

Q – QUEUES

Either develop a bladder of steel, dubious weeing tactics or prepare to spend a large chunk of festival time queuing for extremely smelly Porta-Loos. If you can, make friends with a musician with access to the backstage loos.

R – REGGAE MUSIC

Garance Reggae Festival, Boomtown and Soundwave festival all cater for those who like the laid-back sounds of Reggae. Or try Outlook if your tastes veer more towards Dub and Roots.

S – SECRET GARDEN PARTY

If you like dress up then this is for you, yes we realise Bestival also provides many people with ample fancy-dressing opportunity but it is very far away and doesn’t have a lake!

T – TENT

You’ll need one, don’t make the mistake of ignoring your need or you’ll end up a ‘festival-bum’. Oh and don’t attempt to put it up yourself – ask the delightful chaps camped next to you to do it while you sunbathe.

U – UV PROTECTION

Always be sun-safe and wear sunglasses with full UV protection to protect those eyes and make sure you wear sunscreen and reapply frequently no matter which festival you go to; no one likes an angry red lobster!

V – VANITY

We all like to look our best but it’s probably advisable to tone it down for festival beauty. Just remember these essential; hand mirror, torch, babywipes, concealer, glitter, more babywipes and sunglasses are your friend!

W – WELLIES

Sadly, sometimes it rains at festivals and what with them being in fields it can get very muddy; don’t despair though! Embrace it in willies and start a mud-wrestling league.

X – X-MARKS THE SPOT

There’s nothing like being lost in a field in Serbia at 4 in the morning with no phone or will to live. Make sure you and your festival buddies agree on a designated meeting spot should you all get separated.

Y – YES!

Say ‘yes’ to opportunity at a festival. Some randomer wants you to dance under the moonlight with him in a field? Say yes. Body piercing? Say yes. Snogging that smelly drummer from the band with the rude name. YES YES YES.

Z – ZZZZZZZ

In order to exude festival-fabulousness you’re going to need your beauty sleep; easier said than done in a hot tent at 5 in the morning while people are still partying around you. Invest in an eye mask and earplugs.
